Police chase ends in fatal crash on Lake Hefner Parkway in N OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A man wanted for suspected burglary died on Sunday morning in north Oklahoma City after crashing his vehicle while fleeing police.
According to KOCO 5, the crash happened around 6 a.m. on Lake Hefner Parkway, or Highway 74, which is southeast of the area in which police began the pursuit.
The investigation indicates that police attempted to stop the driver in Edmond in the area of 178th Street and MacArthur Boulevard.
The driver fled southeast into Oklahoma City and crashed along the highway. The collision caused the car to ignite, and authorities pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. They’ve not yet released his identity to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.
