Police have identified a woman killed Sunday in an early morning Oklahoma City car accident.

According to officials with the Oklahoma City Police Department, 33 year-old Jones-resident Yajaira Perez was killed in a car accident in the city’s east side Sunday. Police say Perez was traveling eastbound in her car in the 2400 block of East Britton Road shortly after 5:30 a.m. when the accident occurred.

Authorities say Perez’s vehicle careened off the road for an unknown reason. The car became airborne, flipped over, and struck several trees before coming to rest in a ditch.

Perez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family and friends.
