A police officer resigned after a DUI injury crash, a March 3 news clip of News 9 reported.
The accident occurred on March 1, in East Main Street and the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks. Around 1:50 AM, MPD Sgt. Andrew Adams responded to the incident. When he arrived, he immediately identified off-duty officer Alexander Boren as one of the drivers involved in the crash. Adams tried to give Boren a Standardized Field Sobriety Test but he refused. Meanwhile, the other driver requested EMS assistance due to back pain sustained from the collision.
After, Boren was arrested and was taken to Alliance Health Center for a blood test. His blood alcohol content has not been determined, but he was sent to Marshall County Jail for DUI, failure to carry insurance, and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
