TULSA, OK – A person was hit by a pickup truck during a protest along Interstate 44 today in Tulsa, reports KRMG and KFOR.
The protester was in a group located near I-44 when the pickup traveled into the shoulder lane and hit them.
The victim suffered non-critical injuries.
The accident shut down the westbound lanes of I-44 for several hours.
The protests are in response to the death of George Floyd, 46, who was killed Monday in an incident involving Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. Protests are planned for the whole weekend in Oklahoma City and have occurred in many cities across the nation.
