Purcell PD investigates major collision on I-35 SB at OK-74

PURCELL, OK – Emergency crews responded to a major accident along the interstate in east-central McClain County on Monday afternoon, reports OKC Fox 25.

The crash occurred along the southbound exit from I-35 to OK-74 in the city of Purcell, which is about 36 miles south of Oklahoma City.

Police haven’t commented on the cause of the collision, the number of vehicles involved, or the number of people hurt in the accident.

Officials closed the the southbound stretch of I-35 to OK-74 while crews gathered evidence and worked at the scene. Drivers were encouraged to seek an alternate route.
