Rush-hour car fire reported on I-35

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Emergency and fire officials in Oklahoma City have responded to a car fire along Interstate 35 during Thursday evening’s rush-hour traffic.
The accident occurred within the southbound lanes of I-35 near Southeast 44th Street just after 5:00 p.m., according to the Oklahoma City response and accident tracker.
Officials have reported injuries as a result of the crash. However, the severity of those injuries as well as the number of vehicles involved in the collision has not yet been released.
This situation is still developing. Authorities are urging motorists to avoid this section of I-35 southbound throughout Thursday evening so the fire may be safely extinguished and wreckage removed from the roadway.
