Salvage yard catches fire after power lines down in Southwest Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a reported electrical fire southwest of downtown Friday afternoon.
According to News on 6, fire officials were called to the scene at a vehicle salvage yard near the intersection of Newcastle Road and Southwest 44th Street.
Authorities believe the fire was a direct result of downed power lines in the area. A number of vehicles in the salvage yard were damaged when the power lines went down. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the fire.
