A Sand Springs teenager was killed, and two others injured, Sunday in an Oklahoma car accident.
According to officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 15 year-old Hannah Nicole Christian was transported by helicopter to St. Francis Medical Center where she was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon.
Police say 16 year-old Dani McKayla Johns, of Sand Springs, was traveling east in a 2001 Mercury Cougar at the intersection of 61st Street South and 161st West Avenue shortly before 4:00 p.m. Sunday when the accident occurred. Johns failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with a westbound 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by 20 year-old Preston Montgomery Blair, of Sapulpa, authorites say.
Johns was also transported to St. Francis, where she was treated and released. Her passengers, 15 year-old Cassidy Rae Rotramel and 14 year-old Mika Ashton Johns, both of Sand Springs, were taken to St. Francis in critical condition with external trunk injuries.
Blair refused treatment at the scene police say.
The occupants of the Mercury were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the accident report.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and friends during this difficult time.
