CADDO CO., OK – A 17-year-old died Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle collision along the highway in north-central Caddo County, reports Fox 25 OKC.
Shortly before 4 a.m., police and medics responded to US-281 near County Road 1120, which is just north of Lookeba and about an hour west of Oklahoma City.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the 18-year-old driver of 2018 Dodge Charger lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash along the highway.
A teen passenger in the vehicle succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Medics airlifted the driver of the Charger to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Motorists likely encountered lane closures along US-281 early Tuesday while emergency crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
