OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A 29-year-old truck driver died last Sunday morning after crashing along the interstate and into the river near downtown Oklahoma City, reports KTUL 8.
The incident happened around 1:00 a.m. on the westbound side of I-40 near the junction with I-35, which is just north of the Oklahoma River and south of the Greyhound Bus Station.
Police say the trucker lost control of his 2020 Freightliner and rolled into the river after crashing through a barrier on the side of the interstate.
The driver died at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified him as Mandeep Sran.
Officials say the driver’s speed and the icy road conditions were the primary causes of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
