Semi slams into cable barriers on Kilpatrick Turnpike in NW Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — A semi-truck accident Wednesday evening resulted in long delays on John Kilpatrick Turnpike in northwest Oklahoma City, reports KOCO.
The wreck occurred on the westbound lanes at Council Road and Memorial Road at about 5:23 p.m.
It was unclear what led up to the crash, but authorities said the semi struck cable barriers along the turnpike, causing a major traffic backup in the area.
The scene remained on the roadway for over two hours. By 7:26 p.m., crews had cleared the accident.
