Semi strikes carriage at Hwy 412 and 428 Rd in Chouteau, killing Amish teen

CHOUTEAU, OK – A teen boy died late Sunday night when an 18-wheeler struck his horse-drawn carriage along the highway in Chouteau, reports News on 6.
The incident happened around 11:12 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 412 and 428 Road, which is just north of Miller Metals and Thompson Butcher Barn.
The investigation thus far indicates that the 17-year-old was headed southbound in his buggy on 428 Road when a semi-truck struck him at the intersection with Highway 412.
The force of the collision threw the young driver from his carriage and onto the roadway, where he died.
The truck driver did not sustain injuries in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
