Serious injuries reported in solo crash on CR 5101 in Pawhuska

PAWHUSKA, OK – A single-vehicle accident that happened Monday in central Osage County injured five young people, reports KJRH News 2.
The crash occurred sometime at night along County Road 5101 near Pawhuska, which is about an hour northwest of Tulsa.
Police say that the driver of a pickup truck carrying four passengers lost control of the vehicle when one of the passengers pushed the accelerator. The truck left the roadway and crashed into an embankment.
Medics transported three of the occupants to an area hospital with serious injuries.
It’s unclear if the additional two occupants required hospitalization for their injuries.
Officials say that the passenger who hit the accelerator had been drinking when the crash occurred.
A full investigation is underway.
