Single-vehicle crash on I-40 WB near I-235 slowss traffic

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Drivers experienced delays Friday morning following a solo crash along the interstate just east of downtown Oklahoma City, reports KOCO News 5.

The accident happened sometime before 7 a.m. on the westbound side of I-40 near I-235. This is north of the Oklahoma River and south of Booker T. Washington Park.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a driver left the roadway and hit a barrier wall. It’s unclear if the driver or anyone else in the vehicle sustained injuries.

Officials closed two lanes of I-40 westbound in the area of the wreck while crews worked at the scene.
