Single-vehicle crash on US-283 NB near Mangum kills 1, injures 1

GREER CO., OK – One person died, and another sustained critical injuries in a single-vehicle accident along the highway in central Greer County, reports KOCO News 5.
The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. at US-283 northbound and North 1960 Road, which is just east of the city of Mangum.
Police say that the driver of a northbound pickup truck lost control of the vehicle, at which point the truck left the roadway and overturned. The force of the collision threw the driver from the vehicle, killing him. Authorities identified the deceased as 79-year-old Calvin Gaston.
Medics transported a 75-year-old passenger from the pickup truck to the hospital with serious injuries.
