Single-vehicle motorcycle crash at I-344 and N Santa Fe kills 1

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A 22-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries Saturday in a motorcycle accident along the turnpike in north-central Oklahoma City, reports OKC Fox 25. 

The accident happened around 9:44 p.m. on the eastbound side of the John Kilpatrick Turnpike near North Santa Fe Avenue. This is just southwest of Edmond.

Police say that the victim lost control of a motorcycle carrying both the operator and a passenger. The crash threw the operator, identified as Riley Anne Basford, from her bike.

Medics transported Basford to an area hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the accident.

It’s unclear if the passenger on the motorcycle sustained injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
