Solo crash on Alameda Dr in Norman kills 1, injures others

NORMAN, OK – One person died at the hospital Friday afternoon after a single-vehicle collision along a busy roadway in Norman, reports KOCO News 5.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. somewhere along Alameda Drive, which runs through Lake Thunderbird State Park on the eastern side of the city.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, fatally injuring one of the occupants. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.

At least one or two other passengers sustained minor injuries in the crash. It is unclear if they required hospitalization.

A full investigation is underway.
