Speeding driver dies after crashing off I-40 in central Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — One person was fatally injured early Sunday in a high-speed crash off an Interstate 40 exit ramp near downtown Oklahoma City, according to KOCO.
The fatal collision occurred near the South Shields Boulevard overpass shortly after 11:40 p.m.
Oklahoma City Police said officers had attempted to pull over a potential street racer, but the driver refused to stop and crashed off the roadway moments later.
The victim died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities.
No other injuries were reported.
An investigation was underway.
