Speedy driver causes fatal collision in Stillwater

STILLWATER, OK – A speedy driver was responsible for causing a fatal collision that happened on U.S. 177 Saturday, KOCO reports.
A 17-year-old boy was driving at a high rate of speed on the highway’s southbound lane when he crashed into a curb. He lost control of his vehicle and drifted into the opposite lane. Seconds later, he crashed head-on into another vehicle driven by a 78-year-old adult.
The crash happened before 12:30 a.m., and both drivers died from their injuries at the scene.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the teenager was driving without his headlights on and did not report impairment as a contributing factor.
The 78-year-old driver was identified as Lorna R. Stein.
