Stillwell man killed in crash on US-59 near S 4731 Rd in Adair Co.

ADAIR CO., OK – A 71-year-old man died Sunday afternoon in a major accident along the highway in east-central Adair County, reports News 9.

The crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. along US-59 just north of Baron. This is about 100 miles southeast of Tulsa.

There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the wreck or the number of vehicles involved.

One person sustained fatal injuries. Authorities identified him as Craig Johnson of Stillwell.

Motorists likely encountered delays Sunday afternoon in the area of the accident while crews worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
