A driver of an SUV was involved in a head-on collision with a canine unit deputy’s cruiser Saturday evening in Oklahoma City.

According to reports, the man was driving the wrong direction in the westbound lane of S.W. 29th when his vehicle hit the deputy’s cruiser head-on. EMSA treated both drivers at the scene of the accident. Once treated, the SUV driver was given a field sobriety test and later handcuffed.

Sunday morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers arrested the 21-year-old driver of the SUV for driving while intoxicated, failing to wear a seat belt, and driving on the incorrect side of the road.

If you or someone you know has been injured in a car accident caused by an intoxicated driver, the reckless driver should be held liable. Contact the Oklahoma drunk driving accident lawyers of the Abel Law Firm by calling 1-800-739-ABEL today.
