Teen driver dies after crash at McCurtain County intersection

MCCURTAIN COUNTY, OK — A 19-year-old woman died Sunday evening after a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 70 near east Valliant, according to KFOR.
The fatal accident happened at the intersection with Oklahoma Highway 98 and was first reported at about 8:20 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows the teen was driving a 2001 Buick when she she stopped before a stop sign on OK-98. Moments later, the she pulled the Buick out and into the path of a 2013 Chevy, resulting in a crash.
First responders arrived on the scene to discover the teen had died from head trauma and internal injuries.
No information regarding the other driver has been disclosed at this time.
An investigation remains in progress.
