Thousands of Breezer bicycles are being recalled due to problems that may cause a loss of control and possible injury to the biker.
Reports said approximately 1,700 units of “Breezer Downtown Bicycles” may have defective pedals that may suddenly fall off during operation. If the problem occurs, riders could lose control of the bike and potentially crash. Though no one was seriously hurt before the recall was issued, the company was aware of 12 incidents where pedals detached from the spindle. The affected bikes comes in six models with various colors and were imported by Advanced Sports International. People who might have the affected bikes should coordinate with their local bike dealer to get free replacement pedals.
