Train strikes, kills pedestrian near Main and Rail in Guymon

GUYMON, OK – A pedestrian died earlier this month when a train struck them in central Texas County, reports News Channel 10 and KSCB News.
Shortly after midnight on Thursday, May 8th, emergency crews were called to the railroad tracks intersecting North Main Street just south of Rail Road in the city of Guymon.
It’s not yet clear why the pedestrian was walking near the tracks at the time of the accident, but authorities declared them deceased at the scene.
Police haven’t released the name of the victim, but they have notified next of kin.
There’s no word regarding the status of the train following the collision, nor do we know if traffic in the area was impacted.
