Tulsa police working to identify cyclist killed in hit-and-run

TULSA, OK – Investigators with the Tulsa Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying the cyclist killed in a Sunday night hit-and-run.
According to News on 6, the incident occurred near the intersection of North Lewis Avenue and East Independence Street. Officials believe the cyclist was struck from behind while riding in the northbound lanes of Lewis Ave.
Police received a call 30 minutes after the accident was reported from the driver of a pickup truck who believed he hit something while driving on Lewis Ave.. The driver’s truck was impounded. However, the man has not been arrested pending the results of a toxicology test.
Officials are urging anyone with information regarding the identity of the cyclist to come forward.
