Two dead after Cherokee County crash

TAHLEQUAH, OK – Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are investigating a Cherokee County accident that claimed two lives and injured a Sheriff’s Deputy last Friday night.
According to News on 6, the head-on collision occurred along the North 510 Road close to the town of Moodys. Jared Whipple Wilkerson, 20, and Grace Blaylock, 22, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Young was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He has since been released.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing. We will provide any updates as they are made available by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
