A man and a woman were injured in a one-vehicle crash that took place in Muskogee on Friday.
47-year-old Herman Brown was driving south on 24th Street with 24-year-old passenger Tawanna Soap. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Brown’s car flew through the air after he ran off the road and through a ditch. The vehicle reached about 20 feet in the air before it hit a tree and landed back into the ditch.
Sheriff Charles Pearson arrived to the scene and smelled alcohol on Brown, as well as noticed alcoholic beverages in the vehicle. It has been reported that drunk driving was the cause of the accident.
Brown and Soap were taken to Muskogee Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash.
