OWASSO, OK – According to an update from KJRH, it was a semi-truck that was responsible for causing a deadly rear-end crash in Owasso on Monday.
Owasso police said the incident happened after 7:30 a.m. on Highway 169. The semi-truck driver tried to stop for traffic congestion (which resulted after a previous, separate crash) and instead rear-ended three vehicles.
One of the vehicles slid partially into an empty drainage ravine and caught on fire. The driver inside was trapped and died from their injuries.
One person was transported to a hospital, and another person was injured but was not taken to the emergency room.
A full investigation has been started.
