UTV rollover accident near US-59 in Maud kills young girl

POTTAWATOMIE CO., OK – Authorities are investigating a UTV crash that fatally injured a young girl in central Pottawatomie County on Tuesday afternoon, reports KOCO News 5.
The accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. just southwest of Maud and near OK-59. This is about one hour southeast of Oklahoma City.
Police say that an eight-year-old was driving a Polaris Ranger when she lost control of the vehicle. The UTV overturned, and the girl became trapped beneath it.
The girl died after transport to a Shawnee hospital.
A full investigation is underway.
