Vehicle fire reported following a rush hour crash in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Officials in Oklahoma City responded to a crash that subsequently burst into flames just north of downtown during the Thursday evening.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Northwest 23rd Street and North May Avenue near Taft Middle school just after 4:00 p.m., according to the Oklahoma City response and accident tracker. Authorities were forced to close off the intersection while the fire could be extinguished, causing motorists to detour around the area. 

No word on how many people were involved in the crash or if any of the occupants were injured has been released yet. We will provide further details as they are made available by Oklahoma City Police.
