Vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian at S May and SW 59th near airport

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A male pedestrian died on Friday after a vehicle struck them at a busy intersection just east of the airport in Oklahoma City, reports News 9.

The incident happened in the afternoon at the intersection of South May Avenue and Southwest 59th Street, which is east of I-44 in the Hillcrest area.

Police have not yet described the vehicle involved in the accident, nor have they clarified whether the driver remained at the scene to render aid and answer questions.

Medics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities have not yet released his identity to the public.

A full investigation is underway.
