Vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian on Western Ave in SW OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person died on Thursday in southwest Oklahoma City after a vehicle struck them along a busy roadway, reports KOCO News 5.

The incident happened just before 6 a.m. immediately south of I-240 on Western Avenue, which is just north of Lightning Creek Park.

At this time, it’s still unclear how the crash happened. Police say a pickup truck hit a pedestrian on Western. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene to speak with authorities.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased.

A full investigation is underway.
