Vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at SW 59th and Walker kills 1

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Police are investigating after a vehicle struck and fatally injured a pedestrian in south-central Oklahoma City on Tuesday, reports KOCO News 5.
The accident happened early in the morning at Southwest 59th Street and Walker Avenue, which is north of I-240 and east of Lightning Creek.
It’s not yet clear if the victim was walking in a designated crosswalk at the time of the crash. The driver involved in the accident initially fled but did return to the scene to speak with authorities.
Medics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital, where they died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Drivers likely encountered delays at the intersection where the crash occurred while emergency teams worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
