A man from Vian was killed in a single-vehicle accident outside of Oklahoma City.

According to officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 27 year-old Justin Kyle Phillips was traveling south on County Road Mail Route Road when his vehicle careened off the right side of the road, reentered the roadway, went off the right shoulder, and rolled over. Police say Phillips was ejected 32 feet from his 1995 Chevrolet PK. He was pronounced dead at the scene from head and internal injuries.

According to a report released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a wet road contributed to the accident. A trooper’s preliminary report also noted that there was an odor of alcohol present at the scene of the wreck.

Phillips was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the Oklahoma car accident.
