OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Authorities have identified the elderly woman that died Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision on the north side of Oklahoma City, reports News on 6.
According to Oklahoma City Police, 75-year-old Rita Stover sustained fatal injuries when a truck rear-ended her red sedan just after noon at the intersection of Northwest 150th Street and Portland Avenue.
This initial crash pushed the red sedan into oncoming traffic, and the car struck a second truck head-on. One of the trucks then went on to hit a fence along the roadway.
Stover died at the scene of the accident. There were no other passengers in her vehicle.
Medics transported the drivers of both trucks to area hospitals with minor injuries.
Officials are still working to determine what might have caused the driver of the first truck to hit the rear of the sedan.
No charges have been announced thus far, but the investigation is ongoing.
