A resident of Oklahoma City, who was the victim of a fireworks accident two years ago, recounted what had happened to her during and after the incident, an article of News9.com reported on July 2.
Reports said Rebecka Rich’s right eye was struck by a Roman Candle on July 4, 2014. The accident occurred while she and her children played with fireworks, having what she deemed a “Roman Candle fight.” Rich had her cornea and eyelid seriously damaged, and her damaged eye is now sutured shut to speed up her recovery. Although Rebecka’s eye injury continues to heal, she claims to suffer emotional hardships and avoids talking to people because of her injury. Doctor Rhea Siatowski said people can avoid such accidents by wearing safety glasses or similar eye-wear while watching fireworks displays.
