CALUMET, OK – A 50-year-old woman died from her injuries as a result of a multi-vehicle crash that happened on I-40 East last Tuesday, Sept. 23, OKCFOX reports.
Preliminary details show that the 50-year-old woman’s vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle. The force of the crash caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle and go off the road. Moments later, her car overturned, and she died from her injuries at the scene. She has since been identified as Joyce Hamblen from Sellersburg, Indiana.
Two other vehicles crashed into the first vehicle that hit Hamblen. The force of the crash caused the first vehicle to split in half, and its driver was injured.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed that Hamblen did not wear a seatbelt.
A full investigation continues.
