GROVE, OK – A woman passed away days after a multi-vehicle crash in Delaware County on Monday reports KFOR.
The crash happened on March 19 along US-59 near Grove around 6 p.m. A driver in a Land Rover Discovery was headed southbound on the highway and attempted to pass a Chevrolet Equinox before crashing into it.
The Chevrolet was pushed into the northbound lanes where it collided with an oncoming Ford Explorer. The Ford overturned after impact.
The driver and a 17-year-old passenger in the Ford were pinned for several hours before being freed and taken to a Tulsa hospital for injuries.
Four occupants were in the Chevrolet including a 4-year-old girl. They were pinned in their vehicle for one hour before being extricated. The driver and two passengers in the vehicle were airlifted to a nearby hospital.
Mary Tanner, 47, was a passenger in the Chevrolet and died of her injuries this past Monday.
Authorities blame reckless driving and improper passing for the cause of the fatal crash.
