Woman in wheelchair fatally struck by car while crossing street in Tulsa

TULSA, OK – A woman crossing the street in a motorized wheelchair is dead after she was hit by a driver in Tulsa on Wednesday night, according to Tulsa World.
The incident happened near Hartford Avenue and 46th Street N at around 7 p.m., as a woman in her mid-60s in a motorized wheelchair was crossing the street with her husband.
Th unidentified victim and her husband, who was not hit in the collision, were both taken to the hospital. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver said he did not see the victim before the crash and that he had a green traffic light. He is not believed to have been under the influence when the accident happened.
