Woman killed, man hurt in head-on crash near Elmore City

NEAR ELMORE CITY, OK – A 73-year-old woman lost her life and an 83-year-old man was injured in a head-on crash that happened near Elmore City Saturday.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KTEN that the collision occurred when the 73-year-old woman was going west on State Highway 29 and lost control of her vehicle and drifted into an eastbound lane. As a result, she crashed head-on into another vehicle driven by an 83-year-old man.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She has since been identified as Phyllis Hensley. The man has since been identified as William Thompson. Both were Elmore City residents.
