1 hurt in crash involving prisoner transport vans on I-35 near SE 24th

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – One person went to the hospital Friday after a crash involving at least one prisoner transport van and an SUV in Oklahoma City.

According to KOCO News 5, the incident occurred in the morning on the southbound side of I-35 near Southeast 24th Street, which is west of Trosper Park.

Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause or circumstances of the accident. Several transport vans carrying a total of 16 prisoners were stopped at the scene, but it’s unclear how many of the vans were involved in the crash. The collision also involved an SUV.

Medics transported one of the prisoners to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
