PURCELL, OK – One person sustained injuries Sunday when a police chase ended in a two-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in Purcell, reports OKC Fox 25.

The collision occurred just after 11 p.m. at the intersection of South Green Avenue and West Lincoln Street, which is just south of Purcell Muni Hospital.

Police say they attempted to stop a Chevy Avalanche for speeding on South Green Avenue. The driver of the Chevy fled, running the red light at Wyatt Avenue, hitting the median, and colliding with another vehicle at the West Lincoln intersection. This second vehicle overturned into a ditch along the roadway.

The suspect, identified as Ricardo Campaner, left the scene of the accident and crashed again at the intersection with Grant Street. Campaner then ran from police on foot.

The driver of the vehicle struck by Campaner went to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities apprehended Campaner, who faces multiple charges, including leaving the scene of an injury accident, DUI, reckless driving, and eluding police.

A full investigation is underway.
