1 killed, 1 hurt in 2-vehicle crash near Hwy 11 NB and I-244

TULSA, OK – One person died, and at least one other required hospitalization Sunday following a major accident along the highway in northeast Tulsa.
According to News on 6, the crash happened sometime before 8 p.m. on the northbound side of Highway 11, just north of I-244. This is just south of Tulsa International Airport.
Police say that a northbound SUV rear-ended a trailer attached to a pickup truck on the shoulder of Highway 11. The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were attending to a flat tire on the latter vehicle. One person became trapped between the pickup truck and the trailer when the collision occurred.
Emergency teams worked to extricate the pinned victim, who died after transport to an area hospital. Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
Medics transported the driver of the SUV to the hospital with unknown injuries. They are said to be in stable condition.
A full investigation is underway.
