NEAR MARIETTA, OK – Four people were taken to a hospital following a multi-vehicle collision north of Marietta on Thursday, KTEN said.
The crash happened on Interstate 35. Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s spokesperson Walter Jack told the source that the incident unfolded when a person driving a tractor-trailer, traveling south, crossed over into the northbound lanes and crashed into two other vehicles.
The impact entrapped one person in their vehicle, who was extricated by fire crews and then airlifted to a hospital in Denton, Texas, for treatment.
The tractor-trailer driver was taken to Ardmore Hospital, and a driver and passenger of an unspecified vehicle were also sent to another hospital.
The injured individuals’ current physical conditions have not been disclosed.
OHP rediverted northbound I-35 traffic at milepost 15 and said those lanes were expected to be closed until noon.
Southbound traffic was also impacted as crews worked to clean up debris from the crash.
