1 killed, 2 injured in two-vehicle collision in Panola

PANOLA, OK – One person died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Panola, News on 6 said.
The crash happened over the weekend, east of Hugle Road. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the incident unfolded when a driver, a 12th-grade student at Red Oak Public Schools, crashed their vehicle into a deer on an eastbound lane.
The teenage driver veered into the westbound lane and crashed into another vehicle occupied by two student-athletes at Eastern Oklahoma State College.
The two student-athletes were identified as Ethan Girdner, a soccer player at the college and the driver of the westbound vehicle, and his passenger, Georgia Francicelli, a softball player at the college.
Girdner, unfortunately, died from his injuries, while Francicelli was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
The high school driver was also injured, although their current physical condition was not disclosed.
