PAYNE COUNTY, OK — Two people, including a teenager, died early Saturday after a high-speed crash that left two others critically injured in west Stillwater, according to O’Colly.

The fatal wreck occurred at the intersection of West 6th Avenue and North Country Club Road at around 4:00 a.m.

Stillwater Police said an 18-year-old Mustang resident was driving a white Ford Mustang at 160 miles per hour in the wrong direction. At one point, the Mustang collided head-on with a red Chevy Impala at the stoplight.

The Mustang’s passenger, an 18-year-old Austin, Texas resident, died in the crash. A passenger in the Impala, a 40-year-old Oklahoma City resident, was also killed in the impact.

Officials said the driver of the Mustang was taken to St. Francis Hospital but has since been released. The Impala driver, a 60-year-old Edmond resident, was transported to OU Medical Center. No updates on their condition have been shared.

At this time, no pending charges have been reported.

An investigation by the Stillwater Police Department remains ongoing.
