CANADIAN CO., OK – A two-vehicle accident at a busy intersection near Piedmont resulted in fatal injuries for a 16-year-old last Friday, reports KOCO News 5.

The accident happened just before noon at the intersection of North Cimarron Road and the Northwest Expressway, or OK-3. This is about 26 miles northwest of Oklahoma City.

Police say that a westbound GMC collided with a northbound Prius when the teen driver of the latter vehicle failed to yield right of way at a stop sign.

Medics transported the driver of the Prius to an area hospital, where he soon died from his injuries.

A passenger from the GMC went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
