2-vehicle crash involving semi kills 1, hurts 1 near Sulphur

MURRAY CO., OK – A 33-year-old man died, and a 44-year-old man was hospitalized after a car and semi-truck collided along the highway in Sulphur, reports The Ada News.
The incident happened just after 12:30 p.m. on Monday on US-177 just north of Sulphur.
Police say a southbound 2011 Toyota Camry veered into the northbound lane of US-177 and collided with a northbound 18-wheeler.
The force of the crash caused the semi-truck to leave the roadway catch fire after striking a fence.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as Joshua Richardson, died after transport to a local hospital.
Medics airlifted the truck driver, identified as Marion Hopkins, to OU Medical Center with internal injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
