2-vehicle crash kills 1 on US-377 at EW 140 Rd in Konawa

KONAWA, OK – A 59-year-old woman died Sunday morning when her vehicle collided with another vehicle along a busy roadway in Konawa, reports yahoo! news.
The incident happened around 9:43 a.m. near the intersection of US-377 and EW 140 Road, which is just north of Vamoosa Cemetery.
The investigation indicates that the driver of an eastbound 2013 Nissan failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. The Nissan turned onto US-377 and entered the path of a southbound 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The two vehicles collided on the highway.
One passenger in the Nissan, identified as Lisa Smith, died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as 34-year-old Kristy Zapata-Gutierrez, went to the hospital with serious injuries, as did a second passenger from the Nissan.
The driver of the Ford, identified as 34-year-old Clayton Myers, was uninjured, as were their two child passengers.
