OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Two adults died, and one child went to the hospital last Thursday after two vehicles collided along the interstate, reports KFOR News.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. near the intersection of I-240 and May Road, which is just northeast of Oklahoma City Community College.
The investigation indicates that a blown tire caused the driver of a westbound 2010 Dodge Journey to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a 2002 Cadillac Escalade. The latter vehicle overturned and struck a pole on the side of the interstate.
The 39-year-old driver of the Escalade, identified as Ronnie Frair, died after transport to a local hospital. A 37-year-old passenger from the Escalade died at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified her as Lisa Lewis.
A 5-year-old child from the Escalade sustained non-critical injuries.
The four occupants of the Journey, including three children, were not hurt in the crash.
The investigation continues.
